DEFORM-2D with the Microstructure Module was used to predict the microstructure in this turbine disk.  Microstructure predictions are available with both JMAK and CA (cellular automata) models.

The models can account for dynamic recrystallization, static recrystallization, metadynamic recrystallization and grain growth.

These models represent the ‘state of the art’ in microstructure process simulation.
